“Higher and Higher” by Jackie Wilson

I walked a half-marathon yesterday, and I am dead. So I need to pump myself up with a little sweet soul music.

Jackie had a heart attack and collapsed on stage in 1975. He spent most of the next nine years in a coma before finally passing.

He inspired (at least partially) a couple of the best tribute songs I’ve ever heard like “Jackie Wilson said by Van Morrison…

… and “Nightshift” by the Commodores.
