“Summertime” by the Sundays

It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since the Sundays released their last album. They’d had some modest successes with their first two albums and a one-shot single (a cover of “Wild Horses” by the Rolling Stones). It seemed with their third album, “Static and Silence”, they were hitting their stride and would have much more greatness to come.

This first single off that album was their biggest hit in their native U.K. and received lots of radio play in the U.S. Unfortunately, leaders Harriet Wheeler and Dave Gavurin have chosen to focus on raising their family instead of releasing new music. (Where are their priorities?)

At least we’ll always have music like this from them. Maybe some day they’ll give us more.

Bonus for Buffy fans: If you don’t feel a little sentimental swoon when you hear this, you’re not really a fan. You’re just pretending.
